I originally wrote an article on 7/14/10 about just this subject. It's not new. I had to search for the article (why oh why do I not use tags?) on my blog, but I finally found it. I had titled it, the most curious thing. Here is the original blog.

The Left is really trying to capture us. A couple weeks ago, we had a flyer left on our door. I'm sure it was a random thing, left on everyone's door based on the neighborhood I live in. It was offering a free cell phone to anyone who is in a government program. I've since shredded the offer, because I read the whole thing and it just sounded plain spooky to me. But get this, you got 200 free minutes a month, with a basic phone. It had text capabilities, but you would have to pay extra for it. So, get you hooked, and then get you in debt, I suppose. But in order to qualify, you had to be in some sort of government program, like my son being on SSI. What caused me to shred it, was that they reserved the right to change the applications on the phone, even remotely, without notice at any time. How do you change an application remotely?
I had an attack of paranoia one time (the Obama administration has me doing that) and thought my cell phone was bugged by my mother in law. I know, sounds insane. But I checked it out on line. I discovered that it is possible to bug a phone, but it has to be one of those really fancy phones, the ones that can hold lots of applications, and you have to have access to the phone personally. As in if the government mailed you one? The program, I forget the name of it because it's illegal to bug someone's phone if they don't know you're doing it (unless you're the federal government) costs over $200. Like I said, you have to have access to the phone to install it. So I know I don't have it, because I've never let my mother in law have access to my phone, and it's not a complicated phone. It sends all the information to a predetermined location, either another phone or a computer, in a download.
Interesting, huh? So the Government is sending out flyers, trying to give away free phones to everyone on government assistance of some sort. Is this so they know where they are? I was really tempted to take it. I thought to myself, this would be a great way for my son to have a phone in case we were gone and the power went out. With 200 free minutes a month that would be all he needed. And the kids could share it.
Then we got a call from a marketing agency....to tell you the truth I've forgotten the name. We've been involved with them before. They send $1 in an envelope and tell us they're going to call with survey questions. Well, this time they called before we got the envelope. They wanted to know if we would be willing to wear a device that monitors everything we watch....it just makes it easier. It picks up all our electronic devices. It scans our grocery purchases, etc. EXCUSE ME???!!! Can it also monitor my cell phone calls? Can it also tell them where I'm at at all time? We said absolutely not. The next day we got the letter explaining it with $10. They wanted to pay us $50 per person willing to wear it.
THIS IS BIG BROTHER! This is the scariest thing I've ever heard of. I just could not believe it. And when you put these two things together? How do things like this happen in America? I would not have believed this was possible just a short year ago. I would have said *I* was crazy for even suspecting anything was wrong. But I was the person who, at the age of 20, went with a total stranger and let him show me around New York City. And I don't think THIS is safe. You tell me that wearing a tracking device in this day and age is right. Yea, it's just marketing.
And everyone knows that cell phones have a GPS in them. Why would anyone let the government give them a phone with a GPS in it? So the government can track down all the people on disability? It specifically says only the person assigned the phone can have the phone. That is population control. Hand out the phones so at a later date they know where everyone is.
If you know anyone who got those, make sure they tie them to rats...just like in the movie with Arnold ...what was it where he went to Mars? We'll have all the government men tracking down varmints instead of Patriots!

I bolded the things that strike me now, over 2 years later. I remember reading the whole disclaimer. I remember them saying they could change the phone remotely. What else can they do remotely? At the time I wrote this, 2.5 years ago, I already had a feeling where this President was leading this country. I know more about communism now besides it's not American. In China (one of the few remaining truly communistic countries) they don't have welfare of any sort. They don't have unemployment insurance. If you lose your job, they give you a small severance pay, and you're on your own. You're expected to either find another job or have family take care of you. The most they do is give poor villagers a free fishing net to start a fishing business, or give a free bamboo starter plant so you can raise bamboo and either sell it or make something and sell that.
If Obama is really leading us down the road to Communism (remember, his mother was a communist and his grandparents, who raised him, were "fellow travelers," code for Communists), his voting base that he's firing up will lose all their benefits. What happens when you have someone how is dependent on government aide and that aide is suddenly taken away by the very government who gave it to them? I'd wager to say they'd riot. I read a report recently (sorry, didn't save the site) that said if the EBT (food stamp) system collapsed, rioting would begin IN HOURS. They say if the economy collapsed, we'd have a couple days before people realized the dollar wasn't worth the paper it was written on. But if the takers can't use their EBT card for their smokes, junk food, etc. things will go south much faster. I can hear it now. Someone goes to Walmart with a cart full, and tries to use their EBT card. It fails, they try using their pin a couple more times, then turn to the person who is with them, asking to put it on their EBT card. Theirs fails, too, so they call someone on their Obama Phone, to find out theirs doesn't work either. Chain effect.
You've been hearing all these stories about lost Ipads, phones, etc., being found with a system that will track it to where it is, right? What if this already has that program loaded onto it? What happens if they can turn it off remotely?
There is NO WAY my son is getting one of those phones. Texas Medicaid went to the Star Plus program. I had 2 choices of plans. One included a free phone so I turned it down and took the other one. If they force one on me, I'm finding a bum on the street to give it to.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
Introduction
"If I bring a sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them and make him their watchman, and he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the trumpet and warns the people, then he who hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, and a sword comes and takes him away, his blood will be on his own head.... But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away in his inequity; but his blood I will require from the watchman's hand." Ezekiel 33:2b-6
I have not been appointed, but I feel the weight of the watchman, because I see the sword coming. How can I not warn the people?

Taxmeggedon
I've been looking at the consequences of letting the Bush tax cuts expire. I found this link that explains all the things that will go up. One thing stuck out to me. There isn't just a bracket of 10% going up to 15%. They are basically eliminating the 10% bracket. Now everything under $35,500 for single, $70,700 for married filing joint, and $47,350 for head of household just became 15%. They didn't raise it, they just made it the bottom rung.
My husband has a friend who thinks this won't affect him, and he's going to vote for Obama, so I did some figuring. He lives with a woman, not married, so he files single. He makes $14 an hour.
Figuring it the old way, using 2012 projected tax brackets found here, this is what I came up with:
The first $8,700 would have been taxed at 10%, which equals $870.
The rest of his $29,120 falls into the second bracket, which was taxed at 15%, which equals $3,063.
This is a total of $3933, assuming no deductions. I don't know what his deductions would be. This makes an effective tax rate of about 13.5% total, since you use 2 rungs of this progressive ladder.
Now, figuring the new way is actually easier. The whole thing falls under the 15% bracket, which is $4,368. That's $435 more a year in taxes. That's 1.5% more. So the lower middle class will get a 1.5% tax increase across the board.
This new system is going to do one of two things: 1) make it more beneficial to stay on welfare, since everything up to the previously stated limits will be taxed at 15% or 2) hurt the working poor the most. I think given the option, if I was going to see my taxes go up that much, I'd consider doing something to get fired so I could go on welfare. You don't have to work now to get welfare, so the government will pay you to sit at home. You know people were counting hours to make sure they didn't go over the limit ($8,700 single, $17,400 married, or $12,400 head of household). I've heard people turn down overtime because it would put them over.
I played with the numbers one more way. I figured a dual income, both being union workers. Let's say one of them makes $30 an hour, and the spouse makes $20 an hour, for a combined $50 an hour. This comes to a married filing joint return of $104,000.
Old way: First $17,400 is taxed at 10%, which equals $1,740.
The next $53,300 is taxed at 15%, which equals $7,995
The last $33,300 is taxed at 25%, which equals $8,325 for a total of $18,060, again before deductions.
The new way: The first $70,700 is taxed at 15%, which equals $10,605.
The last $33,300 is taxed at 28% which equals $9,324 for a total of $19,929. That's $1,869 more a year.
I know one person who, together with his spouse, makes about $170,000 and I can't wait to tell them they will see about a $3849 increase over a year of taxes. They are extremely liberal, let's see if they like sending almost $4,000 more to the government. That would mean less toys for him.
Another thing, according to this chart, it erases the advantage of filing married filing joint when the income reaches $217,450. At this point, it would be cheaper to separate and file single, because it would cut each of your wages by individuals, so if you made the same, the lowest would be $108,825, which would put you in the 31% bracket (the old 28%) instead of the 33%, which becomes the 36%. That's a difference of 5%, half of what I tithe to my church. Are they hoping people will realize this and cut their tithe in half?
And that's just on income. The tax credit for children is being cut in half, from $1,000 per child to only $500 per child. What you wanna bet those people who "loan" their children to relatives who don't have any will suddenly take them back?
One thing that will affect me, if your medical expenses are over 7.5% of your adjusted gross income, you can file the higher actual amount. They're raising that to 10%, making it harder to reach before you can claim it.
We all know this is a political ploy. Barack Obama is trying to scare his base. Remember, these are the BUSH tax cuts. President Bush is the one who made a lower tax rate so the poor wouldn't be affected so much. So, if you make up to $17.07 an hour single, or a combined $33.99 (which could be two people making about $17 an hour), or file head of household and make $22.76 an hour with no other income, your taxes ARE going up. So what happened to the poor won't pay more taxes? Remember, this is the current President threatening to let them expire. All he has to do is sign the bill and they'll stay in effect.
This is why we need a flat tax. You saw how difficult it was to figure your taxes. With progressive brackets, it just makes it confusing. If we had a flat say, 12% tax rate across the board, people making $12,000 a year would pay $1200, and people making $388350 would pay $46602. You can't tell me that's not paying their fair share. Of course, 10% would be even easier to figure. We should get rid of the earned income tax credit, or make it where it only erases what you owe, doesn't give back more than you put it. As it's written now, it's just another way to redistribute wealth. I'm not against setting a low range for people to pay no taxes or get all they paid back. I'm against people getting back twice what they put in. And I have children, I'm not against getting a deduction for having a child. I think if you can prove that you take care of an adult, say your parents move in and you're providing for them, minus what they get for Social Security, you should be able to deduct their expenses. I mean, the government didn't have to pay for them to be in a home, did they? Of course, that leaves open for abuse, but people will find a way to scam no matter what the rules are.
So, who exploits the poor?

1963 - a Pivitol point in history
I know this is an extensive list, but I called up all the world events that happened in 1963. There is a theory floating around the Internet that 1963 was a pivotal year. I was amazed at the events that came up. And I deleted all the music events and sports events and only included political events. I am not a political analyst. I don't necessarily know the ramifications of all of these events.
I did count the number of TV stations started in 1963 and found 7 PBS stations, 3 Independent stations, 4 ABC stations, and 1 CBS. I thought it odd that there were so many PBS, so I googled PBS stations started in 1962 and didn't get any at all. I guess 1963 was the first year for PBS stations ever. It said that 1970 was the first official year for the PBS program, which I find odd, seeing as there were stations starting in 1963. Stations starting 7 years before the program started?
I was born in 1963. I remember watching Romper Room, but I don't remember if it was on PBS. I don't think so, because we only got network at the time. PBS was on a different antenna. Dad had to put the BIG antenna up to get the PBS channel. Of course, that was when when Romper Room served lunch. I used to eat lunch with Romper Room every day. Romper Stomper, Bomper Do. But then they decided that some kids were under-privileged and may not get lunch, and how bad would they feel watching those kids eat when they couldn't? So that ended eating lunch with the kids on Romper Room. I thought it was neat getting to eat with kids on the TV. I had my tomato soup and Fritos...muncha buncha, Fritos go with lunch. I learned the Pledge of Allegiance from Romper Room. I was the only kid in Kindergarten who knew the Pledge. For the longest time, I had to say it in a little kids' voice. Until the Navy. And it wasn't on PBS.

I found the most interesting part in December. Kenya, formerly British East Africa, declares independence from UK. How can Barack H. Obama's birth certificate state he was born in 1961 in Kenya, when it was British East Africa?

My Rant About Illegal Aliens, Benefits and Those That Really Need it Being Ignored
I planned on writing this yesterday, but the experience was just a bit too fresh in my mind. The wound was still open.
I have an adult handicapped child. He graduated high school in 2009. I had intended to let him have a year off to do nothing before trying to get him into a sheltered workshop environment. He is Down Syndrome and Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS), it's on the autism spectrum. His last year in high school, they tried to tell me that he was cured of his autism, and it was a good thing that he was MR or he wouldn't be receiving services anymore. I felt like saying, whoo, call Genus, because no one has ever been cured of autism. You can be "recovered," meaning it only affects you occasionally, but there is no "cure." But I left it alone.
Then, I was diagnosed with cancer, and getting him his job or even some sort of day care situation went to the back burner while I tried to keep myself alive. It's now been a total of 3 years. My sister-in-law has a friend with a special needs son who goes to a day care (for lack of a better word). The mom doesn't work, it's strictly to let him have friends. My son has been mentioning every now and then over the past year that he misses his school friends. He has no one but his family, a few non-disabled youth at church and one friend of his brother's that comes over. My younger son's friend loves him to death, like a little brother, even though he's 13 and my older son is 22. He treats him great.
But, moving along. I toured the facility with my son and my brother and sister-in law. My son absolutely loved the place. They have computers, TVs to watch movies or play on the Wii, they have a quiet room with a couch that a door can be shut for when he gets overloaded. He was introduced to the other clients, and one of the girls giggled. I was asked what other services he gets, and I have to admit, I'm a little ignorant of the whole process. I said SSI and Medicaid. They asked if he had a services coordinator, and I didn't even know what one was. They were SHOCKED that he gets no other services. He's my son, he lives with me, I take care of him. Up to now, I hadn't really looked at him as growing up and wanting to be out. But what normal 22 year old (besides the liberals living in their parents basements and blogging away their hate speech) wants to stay with mom all their lives? He WANTS to do something, to be productive. He asked me to home school him again, because he can feel that he's lost ground.
So I had my husband drive me to Dallas to get the process started. I was told it could take a couple weeks. I don't drive to Dallas because the stress of the traffic is too much. It's funny, I can concentrate on a complicated knitting pattern with no problem, but concentrating on a driving route or other people on the road causes problems with my epilepsy - oh, excuse me, it's called a seizure disorder. I had to round up all his paperwork, school records that I had, what he gets for SSI, any evaluation papers, photo ID (hmm, but you don't need one to vote?). I think the whole idea behind the shield of confidentiality that they hide behind is so they don't have to report how many illegal aliens get services. I gathered everything up and had it all in a folder.
Because his last IQ test was 7 years old, they wanted to do a mini one. It came really close to what the other one was. But that took an hour. Then he interviewed me, which probably took another hour. His conclusion was that he qualified under PDD-NOS, MR, and Down Syndrome. He said if drug into court, and made to give a diagnosis under oath, he'd say that he had Childhood Degenerative Disorder, which falls under PDD. He missed one being labeled autistic. I think it's because of the Down Syndrome. He's a bit more social than most autistic people.
The next step was to get with the coordinator to find out what services he qualified for. First we had to wait until she was available. All of us went in to the office, and I really wish, in a way, it had only been me. I guess it was good for my son to hear it from her, than me, but they put him on a waiting list. A Waiting List. I asked how long it would take, as I'd been told a couple weeks, and she just said no. I asked a month? she just stared at me. I said, 6 months, and got no answer, so I asked a year? Still no answer. She just would say when we get funding. WHEN WE GET FUNDING. Really? All I wanted was a day care. But it costs $30 a day, and I can't afford it. That's $150 a week, $600 a month. If I used up all of my non-accounted for money, I could afford half of that. But I'd have nothing for emergencies (like the flat tire my husband got yesterday).
I left the office so disappointed. I could only think of the lady I know who has 4 kids by different men, is still single, never having been married, gets rent subsidies, SSI because she got a doctor to say her back hurt too much to do any work, and yet all 4 of her kids have Blackberries and she dresses in designer shoes and eats out a LOT. I know because she's a "friend" on Face Book and every time she goes somewhere she checks in.
I know the hesitation for telling me when these services would be "funded," was because they were probably Obama supporters. The hidden insinuation was we don't know who is getting elected, so we don't know if funding will be cut or not. Hopefully that only means until after the election. I know Romney won't cut funding. He may clean up the rolls a bit. I want to know why I see Mexicans who can't even speak English using the EBT card for food stamps, when my son can't get funding to be able to live a normal life? He qualifies for the center, respite (where they pay someone, even someone you know, to watch your child so you can have some time alone, or if you have an appointment where you can't take him), speech therapy, and a program where they pay the parent to keep them at home instead of putting them in a group home. That last program has a 9 YEAR waiting list. 9 YEARS! I may not be here in 9 years.
My son took it better than I did. I came home and cried. I hid in my room so he wouldn't know, but I think he knew anyway. That is really an affirmation that he has CDD instead of autism, the empathy of knowing how I felt. I came back in to the living room, and told him I was really sorry that we couldn't get him in to the center we toured for maybe a whole year. He waved me off and said, "I retired from it." That means he doesn't even want it anymore. He says it that way when he wants to give up something for a while. "I retired from vegetables." My younger son went to get him for dinner and he thought he'd been crying.
It breaks my heart that I can't do this for him. It pi$$es me off that it's more than likely because of the abuse of the system. I'll have to wait, because I can't afford it. And unlike the people on Welfare, I have nothing to give up so I CAN afford it.
Open response to the Leftists on my Internet Story
OK, I've had it. I can no longer stay silent. I can no longer just reply on the post. I'm posting this as a separate rebuttal.
This is in response to my Internet story that I posted. For review, here it is again:

Internet Story
I know it's just an Internet story that gets
passed around. I know people will write and say, "I checked Snopes and Snopes
says it's not true." And my response in advance is, "I don't care." The details
of this story may not be true, but I know service members, and I am a service
member, and the spirit of this story is true, if the exact details aren't....so
I'm putting it up on my blog....
Just Stay
A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside.
"Your son is here," she said to the old man.
She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened.
Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement.
The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed.All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile. He refused. Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients.
Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night.
Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.
Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her.
"Who was that man?" he asked.
The nurse was startled, "He was your father," she answered.
"No, he wasn't," the Marine replied. "I never saw him before in my life."
"Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?"
"I knew right away there had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his son just wasn't here. When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he needed me, I stayed. I came here tonight to find a Mr. William Grey. His Son was Killed in Iraq today, and I was sent to inform him. What was this Gentleman's Name?"
The Nurse with Tears in Her Eyes Answered, "Mr. William Grey........"
The next time someone needs you ... just be there. Stay.

I have received the most "looks" at this article. I have received the most comments on this article. Some are supportive, some are ugly. I was right, most checked Snopes. Most are also oblivious of the fact that Snopes is owned by George Soros.
I don't know how I can say this any plainer: I don't care if it's a fictional story. It shows the spirit of a Marine. I'm sorry if the left leaning anti-Americans in this country just can't stand the thought that a Marine would actually do this.
I also don't know why none of these same liberals who try so desperately to debunk a "story" that probably isn't true in the first place, don't try to debunk all the facts I put out about Obama. I find them on the Internet, too. Look up the Indonesian Killings of 1965-66. It's pretty horrific, or I'd post it here. There is a lady that spent a large part of her life researching this and put it into a book form. It was awful. It was so bad, that every time they look into it, the Muslims threaten the people who are doing the research. And Obama, as a child, was supposedly there. I don't know about anyone else, but if I saw mutilated bodies hanging in the streets, as a 5 year old, I'd be scarred for life. The only way for it to have not scarred him is if his life story was made up and he was never actually there during that time. In a nut shell, the government was overthrown and there was a purge of Communists, mostly by Muslims. Remember, his mother was a communist and his step-father at the time, Lolo Soetoro, was a Muslim. At that time, and after, the Muslims were recruiting middle school students. Funny, how he left in about the 5th or 6th grade, isn't it?
No one debunks (or even tries) that story, now do they? But they can sure try to make it look like our Military doesn't have a heart, are just baby-killers and murderers. Why is that?
Is it that distasteful to you atheists for someone to believe in God? It's OK to attack a Christian, because they don't cut your head off. You know, the Muslims believe that Allah is their god. I don't see you saying anything about their religion. If you're so anti-God, why are you not also anti-Muslim? Is it because their god tells them to kill everyone who insults their made up god? That's really merciful. Or maybe everyone who attacks me online and is too scared to put their name, are actually Muslim?
You see, that's the difference between Christians and atheists. I believe the Constitution allows for atheism, too. What ever religion you wish to practice, and atheism is a religion and belief system, you are free to do so, as long as it doesn't harm someone else. You can't practice human sacrifice. You can't kill puppies and call it your religion. And it shouldn't defraud people. When so called Christian religions are discovered to be bilking the "flock" of their money, they're shut down, too. But Atheists believe that no one has the right to believe in intelligent design. They insist that our schools teach evolution as fact, not theory. Really, were you there? And the schools CAN'T teach the Biblical version even as a theory. Afraid someone might believe it? It takes more faith to believe goo to you via the zoo than it does Intelligent design.

Patriotism IS Still Alive
I woke up feeling solemn today, on the 11 anniversary of 9-11. It's funny how we never say September 11. It's always 9-11. I watched the President's speech, and I thank him for not being political, just being our President on this occasion. Today, maybe for the first time, he was the President of the United States, as a whole. Today, he was my Commander in Chief.
As I sat and watched the coverage of the events of today, I realized I didn't have my flag up. My husband leaves before light, or as the light is breaking. He's normally the one to raise the flag. I texted him to see if he wanted me to put the flag up at half mast. He didn't answer. He must have been busy. I made the command decision to do it.
My house is on a busy road, being the road in front of the high school. My husband is always the one to do these things, and I was a bit nervous. What if the flag unfolded before I was ready? What if it started to touch the ground? I have a really tall pole, what if I couldn't raise it fast enough? Who was watching me?
I put these thoughts out of my mind, lowered the clips and attached the flag. Raised it up fast, then started lowering it slowly. I noticed in my side vision, a truck had stopped. It stopped dead in the road in the inside lane (cars sometimes park in the outside lane). He stayed stopped until I tied off the flag at half mast. As I was tying it off, he drove on. I was intent on making no mistakes, but I think I heard a car door shut. I think he actually got out of his truck. I looked after I tied off the flag and he hadn't dropped anyone off.
Patriotism is still alive in America. May we never forget that 11 years ago, we were not Republican or Democrat, white or black or yellow or red. We were Americans

It's Time to Choose, America
It's time to choose, America. Which road do you want America to travel down? We have the road we're currently on, which leads to socialism. You say, What's wrong with socialism? It works for other countries, right? Wrong. Most countries are like where America is right now, partially socialistic. They have social programs in place, but they don't force the issue. Ever wonder why Canadians come to America for health care? It's because it takes so long to get what you need done in Canada. Pretty soon, even Canadians won't be able to get health care in America.
I wanted to compare a few statistics that are specific, because everyone keeps saying they're better off than 4 years ago. I guess you'd have to be blind to think that way, or else you're ready to totally depend on government for your every need. First, let's look at unemployment:
This is directly from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Democrats love to say that unemployment was already up by the time that Obama took office, that he inherited a bad situation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he take office in January, 2009? It went up between December, 2008 and January, 2009. When then Senator Barack Obama announced his candidacy, in February of 2007, unemployment was 4.5%. It bounced around the 4% mark for several months as we "got to know the Presidential candidate." I remember it was about the middle of 2008 when I personally realized he was a Marxist/Communist/Socialist. That's apparently when businesses realized it too. They saw the writing on the wall and started down sizing. Perhaps they knew the masses would fall for his rhetoric. The numbers started climbing. Remember the push to pass TARP, as WE HAVE TO DO IT RIGHT NOW! President Obama said that unemployment might get as high as (gasp) 8% if we didn't do something. As you can see from the chart, it reached 10% even with TARP.
First let's look at how they determine unemployment numbers. You do realize that as of July, 2012 there were more than 8.3% of the population actually out of work, don't you? They don't count those who have had their unemployment insurance run out. They don't count those who have been looking for work and have stopped. According to this article, the real unemployment number for March, 2012 would have been 22.3%. They used a different way of measuring unemployment up until 1994. Guess who was President in 1994 when they changed how they calculate unemployment? Bill Clinton. Hmmm.
Let's take a look at another thing that hits closer to home for most of us: gasoline prices. I found this chart on line as well.
It looks pretty rocky right around the time that Obama announced his candidacy. I have to admit, it looks pretty rocky right about the time Bush took office for the second time. That really low spike (around $1.60 a gallon) is when Bush released the reserves. and it never came back down again.
Now let's look at something even closer to home: Median Household Incomes:
This chart I only used the data from 2000 until 2010 (the highest it goes). What disturbs me the most about this chart is the last column. It has to be adjusted for inflation. It's like the gasoline prices, if you don't adjust it for the fact that the government tried to fix the problem by making your dollar actually worth about 60 cents, it isn't factual. So, on average, we've lost about $3700 in income. Another thing to take away from this chart is that it bounced around the same area between 2000 and 2007. Once again, that was when then Senator Obama announced his bid for the presidency. businesses went, "Oh Crap! He's gonna win, we better scale back." I would say the Democratic party is more interested in the first column...how many households there are. With their policy of pro-abortion and gay agenda, we should see that number fall.
And finally, something that usually makes people's eyes gloss over: National Debt. This web page also includes the current running debt clock.
When Obama took office, the national debt was at about 11 Trillion. Yes, that's Trillion. As an update, the debt clock went over 16 trillion during the Democrat National convention. As best as I can tell, in 2007 the debt was about 8.5 Trillion. In 2006, the Democrats took control of the House and the Senate. That means the Democrats have doubled the national debt since they've been in office.
The problem is not growth, it's spending. The Democrats have not had a budget for 3 and a half years, and they voted down President Obama's budget 99-0. I ask you this: If you ran your household with no budget and unlimited ability to borrow, how would it look on your credit?
I wanted to compare a few statistics that are specific, because everyone keeps saying they're better off than 4 years ago. I guess you'd have to be blind to think that way, or else you're ready to totally depend on government for your every need. First, let's look at unemployment:

2005 | 114,384,000 | $44,082 | $51,739 |
2004 | 113,343,000 | $42,167 | $51,174 |
2003 | 112,000,000 | $41,185 | $51,353 |
2002 | 111,278,000 | $40,347 | $51,398 |
2001 | 109,297,000 | $40,148 | $52,005 |
2000 | 108,209,000 | $39,926 | $53,164 |

We Are Americans
I had a dream last night where I was in a history class. The Professor asked us a question about Israel, and the situation with Palestine. He asked, since Palestine is insisting on taking land from Israel to form their own country, should Israel just roll over and let them take it or should they fight?
As I was waking up, I rephrased this into an American situation. If Mexico wanted to take half of Texas, should we give it to them, or say "come and take it if you think you can?"
That got me to thinking about America VS European attitudes. Our current President was never REALLY raised in America, place of birth being irrelevant. He spent some time in Hawaii, then his mom moved him to Indonesia, and then he went back to Hawaii. I spent 4 years in Hawaii. They not only don't like white people, they don't like Americans. Half the place wants its independence and thinks the United States conquered them. Indonesia has a guided democracy.
I've explained guided democracy before, but in a nut shell it means nothing every changes, but they give the people the illusion of control by allowing them to vote. They just don't tell the people that the ones they get to choose from feel the same way so no policy changes will ever be made. I fear that's where Obama is leading us. I only pray they made a mistake with Romney and that he will actually make the changes we need.
So, our President wasn't "steeped" in American ideals. He knows nothing about American Exceptionalism. When he said every country thinks they're the best, I have to wonder if he realizes that people aren't immigrating illegally into other countries in the numbers they are here. I suppose you could thank him for his immigration policy. If he makes us a third world country, and communist, we won't have to worry about people trying to get in. They'll be leaving. The problem is, where do they go? It's been said before (and by Yuri B. who is on this site in a video) if America falls, where do you go to be free?
I will continue what I'm doing, even if Obama wins the next four years. I may have to do it underground, but do it I will. I have the attitude: Mr. Obama, if you want my freedom, come and get it.
